How to decide between career opportunities after 12th: A brief reference

Good quality education is a common desire for all students. That’s what students ultimately aim for. When school is done, there is a burning desire to attend best possible college. College life, is utterly diverse than school. There is emotion, excitement and even anxiety regarding which college to choose and what is the exact criteria to be kept in mind. Concerned parents and peer pressure only adds up to the anxiety.

Teaching in India is an exclusive and personal affair. Students must choose a college that is perfect for them, which converges on complete development, one that prepares and makes us ready for all ups and downs of life. Prior to putting your hands to a particular college there are certain criteria’s one must go through and gain ample knowledge before you settle and find a closure. Browse the portal; communicate with the senior students and faculty. In fact all queries on courses and prospects must be well answered with proper emphasis on learning the trade. There is dearth of career opportunities after 12th, we just need to keep certain important factors in mind:

1.       AIM/INTEREST

The most imperative factor and the real oxygen to the process is our interest.  Where we want to be? Where do we look at ourselves if we dream of working and earning? The very basic thought of taking admission comes down to our aim in life and our interests. Lacking interest in what we do not aspire to pursue would only make our graph move down than rather soar.

2.       MARKS/QUALIFYING ELIGIBILITY

Every institute has a particular system of enrolling candidates. Few conduct an entrance exam whereas the rest allow you on basis of your class XII board percentage. Choose a college that serves your purpose. One must have a clear cut picture as to what college we could get on the basis of our marks.

3.       CURRICULUM

Some colleges intend to add few additional courses with the course opted by the student. While some institutes might not give the students the privilege to opt for their choice of course, some institutes do offer the choice individually. For eg. In a particular college a language course had to be opted for. Innovative curriculum can help you stay ahead of the curve.

4.       PLACEMENT OPTIONS

Students must ensure that the college provides for a good placement options that ensures a sound life after college. Good placement and huge companies that soak in students from the college proves that the degree of that particular college instills value. It depends upon personal caliber, still not a bad way to judge a college. You need to inquire about the top colleges in India to see what they offer in detail. Good colleges usually end up with better placements.

5.       PARENTS CONSENT

Decisions that influence your future life, must be discussed with your parents. Being your elders they would always have the best interest in mind. Parents only want the best for their kids.

6.       LOCATION/FACILITIES

College should provide students with basic facility of clean drinking water, hygienic toilets, well equipped classrooms and labs and of course amazing faculty.

7.       EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The College shouldn’t only focus on academics but should play a role in building the entire personality of the student. Sports and other activities must not be ignored and should be given their due by every college.

 Choosing the most appropriate college isn’t an easy task. A lot of research ought to be conducted to ensure what is suitable for us. These are some of the brief ideas that we need to go over before considering admission. At times the decisions may go haywire, and annoy us leading to more confusion, but the student must not lose hope and aim for the best. College is just another provider it is the learner who has to soak in what is to be offered.
