Many different educational philosophies have beenconsidered and are followed across the world that aim towards promoting the academic and social growth of children. They have several perspectives targeting on different aspects of development in a child as far as intellectual, cognitive, and social development is concerned. Among the four philosophies studied and learnt, theseare the two most followed philosophies in the world that can be understood in-depth. These two are the Montessori Method and the Frobel Method.

The Montessori Method

The Montessori Method was developed by Maria Montessori in 1897 in Italy. She started working on this philosophy and developed it after attending the pedagogy courses in Rome, and after careful observation of the children's activities since their birth.

Key Characteristics
The approach of this method is completely child-centered, which functions according to the various elucidated principles of Maria. The aim of a classroom following the same philosophy is the complete development of the child with respect to all the major five folds, which includes physical, social, emotional, and cognitive abilities. It is one of the most followed philosophies in American Montessori Public School. The job of the teacher is to introduce him or her to their maximum potential and to mold them like a clay.
Key Affirmative Points

·         Children develop self-discipline, independence and analytical thinking. They also develop the sense of responsibility during the process of studying in that environment.
Students learn the true way of learning instead of just memorizing lessons, which helps them to develop a true lifelong love for learning.

·         The philosophy mainly focuses on personal growth and development, which helps them to develop maturity and creativity in the students. The lessons taught to them can be categorized into lessons in practical life, sensory and language, in order to turn them into well-rounded and independent individuals.

The Frobel Method

The German educator, Friedrich Froebel, owes to the beginning of the modern day Kindergartens. In 1837, Frobel set the foundation for kindergartens in the world and as well as of several educational philosophies. He believed that a toddler should possess unique capabilities and needs, and that adults should serve them as “gardeners”exploring their potential and making them aware about it. In fact, he also asserted that children of this age can learn best in an atmosphere that is full of encouragement.

Key Characteristics
Froebel education focuses on the point that parents are the first educators for a child, and also stresses on developing strong relationship between home and schools like the APL Global School. The four main components of the method comprises of motor expression, social participation, self-expression, and creativity.

Key Affirmative Points
·         Amongst the list of strengths of the method, the most important is for the students attending the school highlighting the process of their learning i.e. to acknowledge various problems. In the process of working with materials, which helps them to gain resolution to attempt to figure the ways of manipulating and creating the output according to their desire.

·         Although, the remaining philosophies are also practiced by the various organizations in the world, which have a wholesome idea of the development of a child life in an organized way so as to teach them about the bright future ahead waiting for them.

Ways to Improve Hygiene and Sanitation in the Rural Schools

Hygiene and sanitation are the two most important requirements in any school, along with other things.  These two basic requirements are not only required in the urban schools instead they are equally required in rural schools as well.

Let's look into some important facts related to the schools in rural India. It might be an eye opener for us or might act as an alarm for us.

v  There are 6.3 Lakh primary and upper primary schools in rural India.
v  Out of these, only 44% have the proper water supply, 19% have urinals and 8% have lavatory facilities.
v  Among above only 19% have separate washrooms for girls and boys and 4% have separate lavatory facilities.
v  These figures lead to consequences that from the above percentage around 0.6-0.8 million children suffer from diseases such as Typhoid, diarrhea, and etc.

This small list of facts and figures is also one of the reasons behind the gradual decrease in the number of girl students. Therefore, here it becomes important to highlight the significance of the water supply, along with hygiene and sanitation. The schools like the American Montessori Public School should take up responsibilities of these rural schools. These factors promote health and hygiene behavior at an early age; improves the health of the students and decreases the drop-out rate drastically, including girl students, once these factors are observed with great importance then a generational change can be observed as children can lay a foundation for the next generation.

The Government can provide support in the schools through:
•Promotion of the provision of water supply and sanitation facilities.
•Objectives and standards can be designed for construction of facilities.
•To create an environment for productive result through hygiene education activities to ensure that facilities are properly used.
• Monitoring and regulating the implementing agencies.
• To regulate and ensure teacher training.
• To ensure appropriate legislation.

A variety of activities related to school sanitation and hygiene (SSH) include providing facilities that require approval and finance for hygiene education, which may require a change in curriculum, curriculum development for informal education and much more.  The involvement of various schools likes the A.P.L. Global School and possibly NGOs are required to accomplish the respective requirements in a comprehensive way on the implementation of  the SSH. Many organizations can be involved like the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Public Works Department, international organizations, NGOs and the Teachers Organizations.

At last, it would not be wrong to quote an example of various NGO’s and the works being done by them. There are NGO’S such as Centre for Health Education, Training and Nutrition Awareness (CHETNA), a non-governmental support organization based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, which are involved in the promotional activities of health of women and children for more than a decade. Presently, CHETNA works as a support organization which works through its other two centers, that  one of which is the Child Resource (CRC), and Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS). Both the sister companies work in coordination for the women and children’s health and sanitary issues. The conduct programs which provide food supplements and gives health education to children below three years of age.

Education in Private Schools in India

Education in our country is not only limited to the Government run schools. As the country is in its consistent pace of developments, the standard of education has also changed substantially. More parents are interested in getting their children enrolled in private schools.

In the list of private schools, these two schools have also made a significant place. Both the schools are affiliated to the CBSE and are ISO certified. From the two, the former school, i.e. the American Montessori Public School is a co-educational, English medium school and comprises of classes till senior secondary level. The school is situated in DLF City, Gurgaon, therefore, has the maximum crowd of students from south Delhi and Gurgaon. The educational philosophy of the school is to discover a child because of the uniqueness of each and every child. The school has a well designed curriculum for all the classes.

A.P.L Global School

The school prepares the students for various examination checkpoints, primary progression tests, IGCSE, and A level examination. The A.P.L Global School was accredited from the Cambridge International Examination (CIE). The school has a target to bring out the best in every single student by making them realize their own potential. With a mission, the school is consistently working towards to provide learning and student friendly environment which is target oriented, to create personalized learner centric with an appropriate student teacher ratio.

The two schools believe in quality education and hence are busy in delivering the same. These schools are among the private schools of the city where again the main focus is given to the child emotional maturity, which decides the criteria for promotion to a senior class. With lots of efforts put on the all round personality development of each and every student in the school, this highlights the tremendous capacity of an individual to come as a mush bright future with variety of opportunities waiting for them in the world outside.

For this profile, you must hold a bachelor’s degree in any of the specializations. Further, it depends upon the school as to what minimum level of education they demand from you. Some schools prefer only postgraduates for the middle school level. Also, some others may demand teaching experience too. So, it majorly varies from school to school.

As this is the highest level of teaching, so the remunerations are quite high. Generally, a professor’s salary starts from 40,000 and further depends upon the experience and performance. The career of a professor provides the scope for research which subsequently can make you a full-fledged researcher. And we all know how research itself is a great career.

Although, the private schooling has increased with due course of time than the government schools in the cities but in the rural areas also the same has been observed with a steady pace. In the present scenario, the parents are aware about the increasing demand of the private schools for the quality education they provide. Therefore, they try to the best of their potentials to provide the best for their children.
