Many different educational philosophies have beenconsidered and
are followed across the world that aim towards promoting the academic and
social growth of children. They have several perspectives targeting on
different aspects of development in a child as far as intellectual, cognitive,
and social development is concerned. Among the four philosophies studied and
learnt, theseare the two most followed philosophies in the world that can be understood
in-depth. These two are the Montessori Method and the Frobel Method.
The
Montessori Method
The Montessori Method was developed by Maria Montessori in 1897 in
Italy. She started working on this philosophy and developed it after attending
the pedagogy courses in Rome, and after careful observation of the children's
activities since their birth.

Key Characteristics
The approach of this method is completely child-centered, which
functions according to the various elucidated principles of Maria. The aim of a
classroom following the same philosophy is the complete development of the
child with respect to all the major five folds, which includes physical,
social, emotional, and cognitive abilities. It is one of the most followed
philosophies in American Montessori Public School. The job of the teacher is to introduce him or her to their
maximum potential and to mold them like a clay.

The Frobel Method
The German
educator, Friedrich Froebel, owes to the beginning of the modern day
Kindergartens. In 1837, Frobel set the foundation for kindergartens in the
world and as well as of several educational philosophies. He believed that a
toddler should possess unique capabilities and needs, and that adults should
serve them as “gardeners”exploring their potential and making them aware about
it. In fact, he also asserted that children of this age can learn best in an
atmosphere that is full of encouragement.

Froebel
education focuses on the point that parents are the first educators for a
child, and also stresses on developing strong relationship between home and

the method, the most important is for the students attending the school
